ANZUP Mini ASM 2020

Sunday 29 November - Monday 30 November

The ANZUP Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM) provides a platform to discuss and present the latest updates in GU cancer treatment, research and supportive care and to learn more about existing and planned ANZUP trials. The ASM was to be held in Adelaide in July 2020, however, due to the COVID-19 crisis, we sadly had to postpone this meeting.
We are excited to introduce a new model for the ASM, in a two-day hybrid format working with local hubs and an interactive virtual meeting platform.
The ANZUP Mini ASM will once again host popular sessions including the MDT Masterclass, Symposium, Best of GU Program, trial updates, ANZUPx and virtual poster discussant rooms. Our national and international faculty will lead discussions around the challenges and opportunities we face as we work together to improve access to clinical trials, particularly in light of the challenges of COVID-19.
We are planning to hold ASM hubs (both in metro and regional locations), where people can watch and interact with the sessions. However due to COVID-19 and the ever changing environment and requirements, we will not be able to confirm these until closer to the date.
We are delighted to welcome Professor Henry Woo, as the Mini ASM Convenor, with Professor Ian Davis and Professor Lisa Horvath on the convening committee, along with Associate Professor Craig Gedye as the convenor for the MDT Masterclass.

Welcome from Prof Henry Woo

#ANZUP2020 Convenor Professor Henry Woo welcomes you in the short video above.
In early 2020 ANZUP made the difficult decision to postpone our ANZUP ASM, and move the event to July 2021 in Adelaide. Since making this announcement and with many discussions with our members and sponsors we made the decision to hold a Mini ASM on Sunday 29 November and Monday 30 November 2020.
The ANZUP Mini ASM will be a ‘hybrid’ event – all presentations and events will be available virtually, but also where possible allowing attendees to attend local hubs where they can watch and engage with the virtual event together with fellow local Mini ASM attendees. The convening committee are in the process of finalising some excellent national and international faculty and organising some exciting, and dare I say, innovative presentations and activities during the course of the two day event.
We are excited to once again be able to hold this event, as ANZUP’s ASM is one of the most well-regarded events in the industry each year to get involved and participate in. I am delighted to again be an ANZUP ASM Convenor, and thank you for your continued support of ANZUP and our ASM.
Yours sincerely,
Henry Woo
